The Deanship of the Open Educational College has announced the release of the first issue of the "Open Educational College Journal," a peer-reviewed scientific journal, marking a historic milestone twenty-five years after the college's founding.
The Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Anees Al-Mashhadani, stated that this fruitful achievement is the result of extensive efforts made at various levels. He added: "In order to elevate the college's status, raise its profile among peer institutions, and strengthen academic performance, all obstacles were overcome to produce this maiden scientific achievement, which is one of the major aspirations the Deanship seeks to realize."
He further noted that all official approvals were obtained in accordance with the requirements for issuing scientific journals, ensuring it rivals its counterparts in Iraqi and Arab colleges and universities. He emphasized: "We will exert every effort to advance this journal from local to regional and, eventually, international levels."
The Dean highlighted that the journal's editorial board includes distinguished scientific and academic figures from Iraq, as well as Arab and foreign countries, reflecting a desire to integrate diverse expertise to achieve the journal's primary goals. This inaugural issue includes research in the humanities contributed by professors from Iraqi and Arab academic institutions, as well as the Ministry of Education.
It is worth noting that the Open Educational College is currently experiencing a significant renaissance across various sectors. In addition to the launch of the scientific journal, this progress was recently highlighted by the acceptance of its students into postgraduate studies (Master's and PhD) after their outstanding performance in competitive entrance exams just a few days ago.
