Within the framework of the Open Educational College's curriculum, which is keen on organizing festivals to celebrate academic occasions, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ihsan Hadi Ahmed, accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Amer Lutfi Abdul Karim, Assistant Dean for Center Affairs, and Dr. Firas Taher Hussein, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, attended the fourth edition of the central festival organized by the Arabic Language Department at the Karbala Study Center, under the supervision of the Center's Director, Assistant Professor Dr. Ammar al-Masoudi.
His Excellency was also accompanied during the visit by a delegation representing the General Directorate of Education in Holy Karbala, including: Assistant Professor Dr. Jawad al-Muslawi, Technical Assistant to the Director General; Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Yousef, Director of the Specialist Supervision Department; Mr. Abbas Oudah, former Director General of Karbala Education; Assistant Professor Dr. Khalid Mar’i, Head of the Karbala Teachers’ Syndicate; and Mr. Salam al-Bannay, President of the Karbala Writers' Union.
The festival featured various activities, beginning with the national anthem and a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq. The Dean then delivered a speech in which he congratulated the organizers for their efforts, praising the importance of this festival in enhancing the status of the Arabic language and emphasizing its pioneering role in preserving cultural identity and intergenerational communication. This was followed by a speech from the Center's Director, after which the research session commenced, featuring lectures by Dr. Hakim Habib, Dr. Ali Hussein, and Dr. Saeed Adnan.
At the conclusion of the session, appreciation certificates and shields were distributed to distinguished professors. Additionally, graduates of the Arabic Language Department who were accepted into postgraduate studies at Iraqi universities were honored in recognition of their academic efforts and outstanding scientific achievements. The Dean and the accompanying delegation then conducted a tour of the center, during which he reviewed the progress of teaching and examinations, praising the efforts made in this regard. At the end of the visit, His Excellency inaugurated an art exhibition in the Art Education Department.
