As part of the Teachers' Day celebrations, His Excellency the Minister of Education, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Namis Al-Jubouri, participated in the event organized by the Iraqi Teachers Syndicate and the Ministry of Education. Also in attendance were Assistant Professor Dr. Ihsan Hadi Ahmed, Dean of the Open Education College, and Dr. Adnan Al-Sarraj, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Education Affairs, along with members of the Syndicate's Central Council and directors general in Baghdad.
The ceremony was opened by Mr. Uday Hatem Al-Issawi, Head of the Iraqi Teachers Syndicate, with a welcoming address highlighting the vital role of teachers in shaping future generations and guiding them towards social change and development. He emphasized that teachers are not merely transmitters of knowledge but are the primary drivers of societal progress.
In his address, the Minister of Education commended teachers for their prominent role in building national identity and strengthening societal values. He affirmed that the Ministry continues its efforts to develop curricula and improve the educational environment in line with global trends.
A number of distinguished teachers were also honored in recognition of their contributions to improving and developing the educational process. In a symbolic gesture of appreciation, Assistant Professor Dr. Ihsan Hadi Ahmed, Dean of the Open Education College, presented a bouquet of roses to Mr. Uday Hatem Al-Issawi, Head of the Teachers Syndicate, in recognition of his great efforts in supporting and developing education in Iraq.
