Under the gracious patronage and honorable presence of the Dean of the Open Educational College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ihsan Hadi Ahmed, and under the direct supervision of the Director of Al-Suwaira Study Branch, Instructor Dr. Uday Salih Jumaa, the Department of Art Education at the College/Al-Suwaira Branch hosted the activities of the Third Annual Festival. The event was held under the slogan: (Art is a Platform for Creativity and a Mirror of Civilization) On the morning of Friday, April 24, 2026, at the branch's central hall.
The festival witnessed a high-profile attendance and a complete display of creativity, as its segments varied between art exhibitions rich in colors and meanings, paintings embodying the depth of students' aesthetic sense, and vibrant theatrical and cultural performances reflecting the status of art as a sophisticated human language and a bridge for cultural communication.
The festival was also honored by the presence of the Dean of the College, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs Dr. Firas Al-Abdali, the Head of the Art Education Department Dr. Oras Al-Alwani, and the Director of Wasit Study Center, Assistant Professor Dr. Laith Hussain Al-Rubaie. Additionally, attendees included the Secretary of the Wasit Provincial Council Dr. Adnan Hassan Alyawi, Provincial Council Member Mr. Salam Al-Ajili, the District Governor Mr. Mohammed Sadiq Al-Hassouni, along with a group of artists from the Institute of Fine Arts (Al-Rusafa First and Third), and a gathering of professors and those interested in artistic affairs.
This festival confirms the Open Educational College's commitment to supporting creative energies, nurturing artistic talents, and consolidating the role of art in building cultural awareness and enhancing the aesthetic taste of students, contributing to the creation of a conscious and creative generation.
