Horizons of Creativity Shine at Al-Karkh Study Center

Under the patronage and presence of the Dean of the Open Educational College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ihsan Hadi Ahmed, and under the supervision of the Director of Al-Karkh Study Center, Professor Dr. Anis Mohammed Al-Mashhadani, the Department of Art Education at Al-Karkh Study Center held the Student Art Festival under the slogan: ((Horizons of Creativity)), in a vibrant artistic scene that embodied the students' energies and renewed creativity.

The festival commenced with a blessed recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem and the reading of Al-Fatiha in mercy for the souls of the martyrs. The ceremony continued with a welcoming speech delivered by the supervisor of the Art Education Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Nora Abdullah Ali, expressing her pride in this artistic event and emphasizing that the displayed works and creations are a true reflection of the department students' ability to transform their ideas into aesthetic achievements that serve the educational process and enhance artistic taste.

The festival featured a remarkable diversity in its segments, including a film titled (The Origin of Writing), along with the (Civilizations) performance brilliantly presented by the department's students. This was followed by a showcase of authentic Baghdadi heritage that brought the audience back to the fragrance of the past, in addition to a monodrama titled (The Musician), performed by student Ammar Ali Salem and directed by student Mohammed Nizar Hamad, which received great interaction for its artistic depth and human message.

In a scene reflecting the institution's support for creativity, the Dean inaugurated the art exhibition, which included distinguished productions by the department's students and faculty, reflecting an advanced level of skill and innovation.

The festival was also attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Firas Tahir Hussain, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs; Assistant Professor Dr. Oras Abdul-Zahra Hamza, Head of the Art Education Department; and Assistant Professor Dr. Aisar Fahem Al-Maamari as a guest of the festival, alongside a group of the college's faculty and students.

The festival concluded with the honoring of the Dean, his assistants, the Director of Al-Karkh Center and his assistants, the Head of the Art Education Department, and the department supervisor, in appreciation of their significant efforts in supporting scientific and cultural activities and consolidating the position of art education as an important source for building aesthetic and intellectual awareness within the academic environment.

This festival serves to confirm that student creativity at the Open Educational College is not merely a passing activity, but rather an integrated path for creating beauty and building the human being.
