Under the Sponsorship of the Secretariat of the Great Kufa Mosque, the Open Educational College Celebrates World Arabic Language Day
The Open Educational College celebrated World Arabic Language Day in an annual festival held under the slogan "Our Language is Our Identity" at the Muslim bin Aqeel (PBUH) Prayer Hall, attended by academics and linguistic specialists.
The ceremony commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur'an by the reciter Mr. Mohammed Al-Saabri, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha for the souls of Iraq's martyrs. The Secretariat's speech was then delivered by the Cultural Assistant, Mr. Zulfiqar Al-Haidari, who emphasized the Secretariat’s dedication to the Arabic language as an eternal tongue that instills pride and eloquence in its speakers, being the language of the Holy Qur'an. He recalled the pivotal role of the Commander of the Faithful (PBUH) in establishing the rules of grammar and the linguistic schools that followed.
Following this, the Dean of the Open Educational College, Dr. Ihsan Hadi Ahmed, took the stage to deliver a speech on the importance of the Arabic language. He was followed by the Director of the Najaf Al-Ashraf Study Center, Dr. Sajjad Al-Qusayr. The program included a discussion of a research paper by the Head of the Arabic Language Department, Dr. Yahya Khalil Ismail, titled "Intentionality in the Use of Terms in the Holy Qur'an." The event also featured a documentary film and a poem by the poet Dr. Bassem Al-Hasnawi. In conclusion, the participants who contributed to organizing this annual festival were honored.
