Under the vibrant slogan "A Lasting Impact and a Message Being Built," the Wasit Study Center of the Open Educational College celebrated the graduation of the "Lions of Mesopotamia" class for the 2025/2026 academic year through an exceptional festival embodying the maturity of the educational journey and the depth of its humanitarian mission.
The festival was held under the gracious patronage and distinguished presence of the Dean of the Open Educational College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ihsan Hadi Ahmed, and under the direct supervision of the Director of the Wasit Study Center, Dr. Laith Hussein Al-Rubaie. A high-level academic delegation attended, including the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Firas Tahir Hussain, the Head of the Art Education Department, Dr. Aurass Al-Alwani, and the Head of the Physical Education and Sports Sciences Department, Dr. Mustafa Ibrahim, alongside elite faculty members Dr. Uday Abdul Shamkhi and Dr. Aysar Fahem Wannas. The annual festival for the Art Education Department was launched under the theme "With Art, We Paint Life," in a celebratory display blending science and creativity.
The event witnessed a notable official and academic presence, led by the Deputy Governor of Wasit, Mr. Salam Al-Batikh, Member of Parliament Dr. Wafa Al-Shammari, Member of Parliament Ms. Mahasin Al-Dulaimi, and Wasit Provincial Council member Dr. Adnan Al-Juhaishi. Also in attendance were the Director General of Wasit Education, Dr. Ahmed Shihab Hamad, accompanied by the Assistant Director General of Wasit Education, Mr. Majid Sallal.
Scientific and cultural participation included the Dean of the College of Physical Education at the University of Wasit, Dr. Ghaffar Saad; the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Dr. Ali Mawla; the Director of the Suwayrah Study Branch, Dr. Uday Saleh; and the Head of Strategic Studies at the University of Wasit, Dr. Mohammed Abbas Zinjar, and his accompanying delegation.
The festival was further attended by the Assistant Commander of Wasit Police, Brigadier General Haider Moussa Abbas; the Assistant Director of Wasit Traffic, Brigadier General Khallad Hussein Abdul Hassan; the Director of School Activities in Wasit Education, Mr. Saif Al-Najjar; the Director of Preparation and Training in Wasit Education, Dr. Nizar Yasser; the Director of Scouting Activities, Dr. Haider Nafal; representing the Faili Kurds, Mr. Munaf Abdul Abbas; and the Head of the Artists' Syndicate in Wasit, Mr. Akram Rashid, reflecting the deep partnership between academic and cultural institutions.
The festival’s activities shone with artistic and creative performances presented by the students of the Art Education Department, sincerely expressing their high skills and ability to transform ideas into impactful aesthetic messages. These works serve as a living witness to the fruits of scientific and educational efforts, proving that art is a message of awareness and construction.
This graduation does not conclude with a certificate, but begins with a message... and an impact that will remain etched in memory.
