Under the patronage of Assistant Professor Dr. Ihsan Hadi Ahmed, Dean of the Open Educational College, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Anees Mohammed Jassim Al-Mashhadani, Director of Al-Karkh Study Center, with the follow-up of Dr. Fatima Naeem Abdullah, Supervisor of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Al-Karkh Study Center organized its Second Annual Scouting Festival.
The festival was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Firas Taher Hussein, the center's assistant directors, and Mr. Mohammed, Director of School Activities for the Taji and Tarmiyah sector of the Karkh I Directorate, alongside a gathering of faculty members and students.
The festivities commenced with a blessed recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the flag-saluting ceremony. Dr. Qais Kamil, Assistant Director of the center, delivered a welcoming speech expressing pride in hosting the scouting festival. This was followed by a speech from the department supervisor, Dr. Fatima Naeem Abdullah, who emphasized the importance of teamwork and cooperation as the essence of the scouting movement's noble mission in building a well-rounded student personality.
The festival program included poetry recitals, the morning tent inspection, and the inauguration of the scouting art exhibition.
The event concluded with the honoring of the Dean of the Open Educational College, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, the Director of Al-Karkh Study Center and his assistants, the department supervisor, and several students with shields and certificates of appreciation, in recognition of their sincere efforts in supporting scouting activities and promoting the status of sports.
